KEN DOUBLE  &   THE

STEEL CITY HARMONIZERS

By fran verri

This Saturday we will be presenting the second of our special concerts.  (The first was to occur on Feb. 6, but Mother Nature had other ideas.)  As you know Ken Double played the second concert of our season, and will also be closing it as well.  This time with Pittsburgh’s own STEEL CITY HARMONIZERS, one of the area’s finest exponents of Barbershop Harmony.

Ken  will, make no mistake about it, be features on your own Mighty WurliTzer as always but this time he will be sharing the stage with both the chorus and quartet from that stalwart aggregation. This is nothing new for Ken, as he has done other shows just like this one with much success.  It is Ken’s and our belief that these two great American traditions have a lot in common, the most obvious being GOOD MUSIC.

The two entities will, for the most part be performing separately, with the exception of one number which will be both a thrill and great fun.

The Harmonizers and Ken have been working behind the scenes and are prepared to present a show that you will be talking about for some time.  Let this be only the beginning of a new tradition that encompasses the two traditions of Barbershop Harmony and  Theatre Organ.   Be at the Keystone Oaks this Saturday at 2:00 PM for this revolutionary new tradition.

IT’S ELECTION TIME ONCE AGAIN

DON’T FORGET TO VOTE

It  seems like only two years since we had to cast our votes for the election of the board of directors of P.A.T.O.S.. and it has.  Very soon, if you haven’t already, you will be receiving your ballot.  Please vote for the number of candidates requested on the ballot, and send it in.

ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING

WEDNESDAY JUNE 9

This year, for the first time we will NOT be holding the annual business meeting in the auditorium of the K.O.  We will hold the meeting at the Baltimore House located at 176 Curry Hollow Rd. right off Route 51.

Not many of you have come out for the meeting in the past but this time you might think differently as right after the meeting we will all, if you choose to join us, be breaking bread together.

So… if you would like to help steer your organ society by bringing forth your thoughts and ideas and also enjoy a night out, be at the Baltimore House that night.  The meeting begins at 6:00 PM sharp.  By the way the prices range from very reasonable to moderate.

Please break with tradition and come to the meeting we really want to hear what you have to say.
